What is the real reason for including a quest in a piece of literature? What did you think? What made sense? Can you think of any quests in other pieces you've read?
According to the book, the real reason for a quest is self-knowledge. I definitely agree, who isn't curious? Harry Potter wants to know what his parents were like, how he got his scar, and who Lord Voldemort was (all self-knowledge) so therefore, he was on a quest. In this case, he did know he was on a quest while others sometimes don't know they are.
the real reason for including a quest is self knowledge, a quest is a journey you go through on your own to learn about themselves. i think of a quest as a story line that tells the reader about their life. i have also read alot of quest in other books some people go on journeys, adventures and so on which makes me think of a quest.
The real reason for including a quest is always self knowledge. I agree with the author in the sense that almost all the stories teach the young character something about life. It made sense that you could take an everyday situation and make it into a big story including mythical, or fairytale creatures. I know that I have read books that include the character having self knowledge, but I can't think of a title at the moment.
The real reason for including a quest in a piece of literature is self-knowledge. I think that the book is right, that most books do go through a quest. I think that many authors use a quest so that the reader can try to relate to what the main character is going through. Many books go along the lines of a quest.
The real reason for a quest is always self knowledge. Everybody wants to know a little about themselves. A book I've read that has a quest is a Series of Unfortunate Events. The 3 children are on a quest to redeem the death of there parents and to get away from Count Olaf. This is the theme of the book
The real reason for a quest is always self-knowledge. I agree with what he said because at the end the main character always realizes something new about themselves. It makes sense that at the end of the journey the character would realize something therefor gaining self-knowledge. I cannot remember a specific book where there was an example of this
the real reason for a quest is always self knowledge. yes i believe that. it makes sense that the real reason for a quest never involves the stated reason this is because you always learn things from the books you read by an underlying meaning. i have probably read books like this but i cant think of them off the top of my head
The real reason for a quest is always self-knowledge. I agree with the author because the character will realize who they are or what they are looking for about themselves at the end of their journey. I can't remember a specific book where there is an example of this.
You put a quest in a book to give the book a deeper meaning and for self knowledge. I think it's to make a book more interesting and teaching something at the same time. A quest in another novel I read is in a book that I don't have in mind at the moment, they went on a quest of hardship and get something big at the end after finding themselves during the quest.
I think that the real reason to include a quest in a piece of literature is to add excitement to the story. Having a quest also provides reason for having a story in the first place. I'm sure I've read books like this but i can't think of any right now
The real reason for a quest is generally self-knowledge. I agree with this because when characters in a book or movie go on a quest, they usually learn something about themselves, or something they needed to learn in order to promote self-wellness. Many books and movies use quests to help their main characters to learn about themselves and others.
The real reason for a quest is always self-knowledge. I agree with this because at the end of the journey the main character always realizes something new about themselves, gaining self-knowledge. I can't rememeber a specific book where there was an example of this.
The real reason for including a quest in a piece of literature is self-knowledge, as the author implied. Characters realize things about themselves through their journey. There are many books that include a quest.
I think the real reason that a quest is included in literature is for the main character to have a goal they are trying to achieve. I think that quests are helpful things that better a person. It makes sense that an ordinary situation can be turned into a quest. In the book Eragon, the main character has a quest where he tries to reach a group of people to help him.
In the book it says that the real reason for a quest is to obtain self knowledge. I agree that the stated reason is never the true reason for the "knight" to go on the quest and it does make sense that most stories can be interpreted as a quest just with a different setting. I can't think of a specific book shaped around a quest right now.
I think the real reason for including a quest in a piece of literature is so that there is self-knowledge. I think a quest is more like a journey that tells about a persons life. Characters begin to realize who the "real" them is through out this quest. I think this makes sense because everyone conquers a quest in their lifetime. There are many pieces of literature that include quests in them.
I think the real reason for a quest in a story is to keep the reader interested in your message. A quest normal are exciting and have a good story or message for the reader. For example in the book Where the Wild Things Grow, after the boy goes to the land with all the big scary monsters he realizes how much he misses his mother, and loves his mother, and he should never be mean or disrespect his mom. There was a meaning behind the whole quest in the story.
I think by including a quest into writing it shows the characters strengths and weaknesses. At the end of every quest the characters always seem to have gained the knowledge to over come their weakness. There are many different books that have quests.
the reason for a quest is self-knowledge. I agree with that because during a quest the character has to go through hardships that often teach them about themselves and make them realize what they can do to better themselves and overcome what ever obstacle they are facing! A story with a quest would be harry potter books. The dark lord is after harry to kill him.and harry is trying to destroy the dark lord.
Almost every book you read will include a quest. The reason for this quest is almost always for the character to gain self knowledge. In the book Angela's Ashes, a biography by Frank Mccourt, the author is just a young boy living in the lanes of Limmerick, Ireland. In the book Frank overcomes poverty, the death of many close ones, a drunken father, and failure in every subject in school. Of course the whole time he's in Limerick he has no idea he's on a quest but In the end he survives and moves to America to become the successful author he is today.
I believe that the reason for a quest is self-knowledge is true because i think in able to learn you have to push yourself and have that motivation. When you are a self thinker you learn more and understand your capabilities. Their are many books that have quest
The main reason for the quest is self knowledge is true beaucase you need to learn from everything you do. Everything has a quest no matter what it is you just have to have self knowledge to get through it.
The real reason for a quest is self-knowledge. a quest is sort of like a journey through ones life. Throughout the quest the characters find out who the "real" selves are. This makes sense to me because everybody goes through some sort of quest during their lives that helps them to find out who their real selves are.
The reason for including a quest is self-Knowledge. I agree with the book. In most books there is a journey that a person or a few people go on to learn a lesson or to help them make an important decision.
I believe that having quests in a book or piece of literature is important to the books credibility because it shows what the character is all about, whether the character is a coward or brave person. I agree with the book. I think that the characters in literature go on quests to achieve goals, learn a lesson, learn about something, etc. I can relate to this because every day, you yourself go on a quest. You go to school everyday with the goal of learning something, you go to practice with the intent of getting better. Everyone is on a quest every day.
The real reason for including a quest is self knowledge, a quest is a journey you go through on your own to learn about yourself and learn lessons. I have read a book before that had a quest involved and during this quest to accomplish his mission he found a different personality within himself and became a different person in the end.
